Monday Night Football week 11: Texans vs Cowboys
Monday Night Football features an all Texas matchup in week 11, as the Houston Texans play the Dallas Cowboys.
Houston is currently first in the AFC South, but is coming off two straight losses, funnily both in prime time. They look to remedy their recent luck under the lights and are getting some reinforcements to help with that. Wide receiver Nico Collins, who averaged 113 yards receiving in his first five games this season, returns after an injury and looks to help create a spark for quarterback CJ Stroud and the offense. The offense is still dealing with some key injuries, however, including to other star receiver Stefon Diggs and guard Kenyon Green. On the defensive side, pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. (who leads the Texans in sacks) has been ruled out this week. With the division rival Indianapolis winning already this week, the Texans need a win to keep their two-game lead for the division.
Dallas, meanwhile, is looking to end their own losing streak, which has reached four games, and hold onto their incredibly slim playoff hopes. They will have to do that without their starting quarterback Dak Prescott, who is having surgery that is ending his season. In steps Cooper Rush as their quarterback, who should still have CeeDee Lamb to throw to; despite the receiver having a questionable injury designation, he's expected to play. While the offense has new pieces it has to figure out and has struggled all season running the ball, the defense has been arguably their biggest problem. Banged up by injuries, the defense is giving up 362 total yards per game, is second worst against the run and is giving up the second most points per game at nearly 29. Can they muster a good performance and help the Cowboys get their first home win of the season?
