The 2025 Formula 1 season rolls on, with the Italian Grand Prix presenting an opportunity for Lando Norris to mount a championship fightback after his retirement in Zaandvort saw him slip 34 points behind McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri in the race for the title.

However, the British driver will have to overcome Max Verstappen after the Red Bull driver snatched pole position with a stunning final flying lap. The four-time world champion set a new lap record as he grabbed his first pole since the British GP, with Norris starting alongside him on the front row.
