It's been a great year for the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which finished 10th and 9th in the 2022 season yet both reached the qualifiers in 2023. the Gujarat Titans, which won in its inaugural season last year, is also on form to do well.

The final is due to take place on Sunday, May 28, with qualifiers and eliminators in the run-up, and you can find all the important information about the tournament at the bottom of this article, after what you're here for: information on how to watch the IPL.

As ever, the top names in cricket will be involved in the 2023 IPL. Some of the biggest English names playing this year include Sam Curran, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, and Adil Rashid.

The Punjab Kings shelled out a whopping £1.85 million for Curran in a deal that made him the most expensive purchase in IPL history. Other big names taking part include Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, Josh Hazlewood, and Glenn Maxwell.

How to watch IPL 2023 online in the US

In the US, you have two main options for streaming IPL; the best streaming service for watching is ESPN Plus, the $9.99-per-month (or $99.99 per year) sports streaming home owned by Disney.

You can sign up for an ESPN Plus subscription or there's also a great Disney Bundle deal, that gets you ESPN Plus packaged with  Disney Plus and Hulu, for just $12.99. 

Your other option is with Willow TV, a 24x7 live cricket channel. If your cable package includes this then you're in business, but if not you can stream it using a live TV streaming service called Sling TV.

Sling normally costs $40 per month for its Blue or Orange plans (the former with more news and entertainment channels the latter with more sports ones, either is fine for this) or $55 monthly for a combined package, with your first month half price. For Willow TV you'll need to pay $10 extra per month though — this is for the World Sports extra package which includes the channel.co

How to watch IPL 2023 online in the UK

In the UK, as in the US, you have a few options for watching the IPL.

One is Sky Sports, the sports-centric expansion package for Sky TV. This whole bundle costs £46 per month (though less if you already have Sky TV) and you can use the channel Sky Sports Cricket for highlights and live games.

Your other option is sports streaming app DAZN, which will be broadcasting every IPL game live. This app costs £19.99 per month, although if you sign up for an annual plan it costs just £9.99 monthly.

How to watch IPL 2023 online in India

Cricket fans wanting to watch the Indian Premier League games can do so by opting for Star Sports. You can either watch via the Star Sports TV channels or by getting a Disney Plus Hotstar subscription.  

How to watch IPL 2023 online in Australia

You can watch on Fox Sports and via Foxtel. If you don't have Fox, another option is to sign up to Kayo sports. It includes over 50 other sports and it has no lock-in contracts from $25 a month.

How many matches will each team play in the IPL 2023?

Each time will play 14 matches in the group stage. The teams are split into two groups. Teams will play each side within their own group once (last season it was twice), plus twice (last year it was once) against the teams in the other group.

The four teams with the most points will then qualify for the playoffs.

What type of cricket does the IPL follow?

The Indian Premier League follows Twenty20 cricket rules, so the games are short and sweet.

If you're not aware, this style lets each team play 20 overs (rounds of 6 bowls) each, so it doesn't drag on for the same length as ODIs or test matches.
