How to watch Glastonbury 2023 - catch the best of the festival from anywhere in the world

This weekend, almost 200,000 people will make their way down to Worthy Farm to experience the unique atmosphere that can only be found at Glastonbury.

With tickets selling out in less than an hour, the BBC is once again offering bumper coverage of the iconic music festival on its dedicated Glastonbury Channel, as well as radio coverage, podcasts, collections and playlists.

For all of us resigned to watching the festival unfold from the comfort of our living rooms, there will be over 40 hours of mainstream TV coverage to enjoy, as well as 90 sets available to watch live or on-demand on iPlayer and over 85 hours of live radio.

Festivals fans can gather in the garden, lounge in the living room or even hide under the covers without missing a single second, with sets from Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses, Elton John, Lizzo, Blondie, Fatboy Slim, Fred Again, Kelis, Lewis Capaldi, Måneskin, Raye, Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Wizkid and many more, confirmed to appear directly on your telly, tablet or even your phone.

To get you in the mood, BBC iPlayer is also showcasing some of the best performances ever seen at Glastonbury over the years, with their Glastonbury’s Greatest Hits series.

Here's how to catch all the action on the Beeb this weekend.

BBC TV

Headliners and highlights will be available for everyone to enjoy on BBC One, Two, Three and Four.

The BBC has said that "there will be more sets on BBC One than ever before" with coverage being led by Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders and Jo Whiley.

BBC Two will also be broadcasting a selection of new programmes in the lead-up to the festival, including We Love Glastonbury and Glastonbury Anthems, and an updated version of Glastonbury: 50 Years And Counting.

BBC iPlayer

In the lead-up to the event, festival fans can watch the farm come to life on the Glasto-Cam on iPlayer. The webcam launches as a live stream on Monday, June 19 and will be available until Sunday, June 25, offering an aerial view of Worthy Farm from sunrise to sunset, accompanied by BBC Sounds music mixes.

iPlayer will also be offering a Greatest Hits stream, which will feature back-to-back iconic performances from past festivals, streamed 24 hours a day.

Once the festival kicks off for real, the dedicated Glastonbury Channel will show a continuous stream of major moments as they happen, as well as exclusive interviews and footage from behind the scenes.

There will be live streams from the five major stages - Pyramid Stage, Other Stage, Park Stage, West Holts Stage and the John Peel Stage, and for the first time, performances on the Pyramid Stage will be streamed live in British Sign Language.

BBC Radio

BBC Radio and BBC Sounds will be bringing you a wide range of aural delights throughout the festival, starting on Wednesday, 21 June, through to Sunday, 25 June.

Highlights from the farm will be broadcast across Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 1Xtra and 6 Music, plus some full sets from the festival including Elton John (Radio 2), and Wizkid (1Xtra).

6 Music will be kicking off Radio coverage with All Day Glastonbury on Wednesday 21 June where Lauren Laverne will broadcast live between 7.30am-10.30am from the Glastonbury gates as the first festival-goers arrive.

Coverage on BBC Radio 1 Dance begins on Thursday 22 June from 6pm, as Danny Howard, Pete Tong and Sarah Story launch the station’s takeover of the BBC Music Introducing stage. Overnight on Saturday 24 June, they will broadcast an Essential Mix special live from Shangri-La.

From Friday 23 June across the weekend, Radio 1's Vick and Jordan will be bringing you their afternoon show live from Worthy Farm from 1pm-4pm.

On 1Xtra, Tiffany Calver and Kenny Allstar host a Glastonbury special on Friday 23 June (9pm-midnight), which will include Wizkid’s performance on the Other Stage. On Saturday, DJ Target will broadcast a special takeover show from the BBC Music Introducing stage.

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2 will once again be live from Glastonbury on Friday featuring live music performances, guests, and festival action from across the site courtesy of Richie Anderson and Tina Daheley, and on Saturday, Dermot O’Leary presents a Glastonbury special, also coming live from Worthy Farm.

How to watch Glastonbury 2023 outside of the UK

If you are enjoying time on the beach somewhere sunny, or relaxing around the pool, there is no reason to miss out on all the Glastonbury action.

You can catch up with the standout moments on the BBC Music YouTube channel and their social media pages will be dropping regular updates over the course of the weekend.

But if you want to watch the festival in all its glory, chances are you will need a VPN to circumnavigate geo-blocking in other countries that could limit your access to UK TV channels.

A VPN (or Virtual Private Network) lets you watch UK TV from anywhere in the world and using a reliable VPN, such as ExpressVPN, will let you watch all of the BBC coverage as easily as if you were in your living room back at home.

Despite sounding like something tech-heavy, a VPN is easy to use too:

  • 1. Install the VPN of your choice. Express VPN and NordVPN are two of the most popular in the UK.
  • 2. Open up the VPN app and choose the location of the service you wish to access. For Glastonbury Festival, you should choose 'UK' for BBC iPlayer.
  • 3. Then head over to BBC iPlayer on your browser or device and enjoy the free Glastonbury 2023 live stream.

VPNs come with a small monthly subscription fee, and if for some reason you feel like you can't get on with it, most offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.

The full schedule for Glastonbury 2023 is now available to view on the Glastonbury website, with details of stage times and which stage each act will be performing on, so you can get ready to tune in to watch the live coverage.
