A trip to the beach means one thing, if it's on the coast of the North Sea: rain. 11 races in, we've not had a wet-weather session all season, but a downpour could be in the offing during the latter stages of the Dutch Grand Prix. Given that neither Norris nor Russell have the best of track records in the rain, it could make or break the race.
Having been reeled in by Lewis Hamilton, championship leader Kimi Antonelli had just started to pull away again ahead of the summer shutdown. The 19-year-old is 53 points clear of the seven-time champion, with Russell a further three points behind and Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris slowly but surely making inroads.
Max Verstappen has dominated his home race, winning three of five editions since it returned to the calendar in 2021. The Dutchman has made four podiums without victory this term, but with this set to be the final Dutch Grand Prix for the foreseeable future, he's going to be desperate to bid farewell to those exagerrated banks in style.
Each of the past two editions of the race, however, were won by McLaren drivers – Lando Norris in 2024 and Oscar Piastri 12 months ago. The first part of a major upgrade package helped steer Norris to his first victory of the season last time out, and the second part appears to be doing the business nicely.
