Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 4 add the new KRS-7.62 marksman rifle to the arsenal. It’s a semi-auto gun that unlocks as a free reward on the Season 4 Battle Pass as an HVT (High Value Target) completion reward, which means you won’t need to buy BlackCell or spend real money.
Just progress through the Battle Pass and claim it after reaching the end of Page 3. It can deal high damage and great mobility, but is limited by significant first-shot recoil.
How to unlock the KRS-7.62 in BO7 and Warzone Season 4
Getting the KRS-7.62 in BO7 and Warzone Season 4 is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is:
- Progress through Battle Pass pages by earning XP via matches, completing daily and weekly challenges
- Reach Page 3 of the Season 4 Battle Pass
- Claim the HVT Reward
The marksman rifle will sit there as a free unlock. You can also get it as an HVT Blueprint from Page 12, but for that, you’ll need to purchase the Battle Pass.
The fastest way you can unlock the gun is by playing multiple game modes (Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone) as they all count toward Battle Pass XP. You may also put Double XP tokens to work if you have them stacked from previous seasons.

The KRS-7.62 joins six total new weapons, including CBRS-3, Grimhawk, VX Compact, Executioner’s Duet, and AN-94 in Season 4, making it one of the launch-day additions alongside the CBRS-3 SMG.
Marksman rifles occupy a sweet spot between assault rifles and sniper rifles, as these offer precision shooting at medium-to-long range without the extreme commitment of a bolt-action sniper.
Season 4 launches on June 4 at 9am PT across all platforms, and that’s when the Battle Pass goes live. You can then start grinding to earn the KRS-7.62. Season 4 brings a ton of content beyond just weapons, including Operation Wall Breaker in Endgame, the new Rogue Run Zombies mode, and Resurgence Ranked Play in Warzone.
How does the KRS-7.62 compare to other Marksman Rifles in BO7 and Warzone Season 4
Check the table below for a quick comparison between all BO7 Marksman Rifles:
| Weapon | Fire Mode | Damage Profile | Best Range | Recoil | Mobility | Meta Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KRS-7.62 (Season 4) | Semi-auto | High damage, 1-shot headshot potential | Mid-to-long | High first-shot recoil | Great mobility | New (untested) |
| Swordfish A1 | 4-round burst | 3-4 shot kill, 122ms TTK (3-burst) | Mid (38m drop-off) | Minimal recoil | Slow mobility or handling | Absolute Meta |
| M8A1 | 4-round burst | Burst-fire, low recoil | Mid-to-long | Low recoil within burst | Better handling than Swordfish | A Tier |
| Warden 308 | Semi-auto | Hard-hitting, aggressive playstyle | Mid-to-long | Moderate | Aggressive/speed-focused | A Tier |
| M34 Novaline | Semi-auto burst | Good for mid-range aggression | Mid | Good control | Mobile for burst | B Tier |
The Swordfish A1 is the current king due to its insane TTK of 122ms for a 3-burst kill with minimal vertical recoil within bursts, and it recenters perfectly. Compared to that, the KRS-7.62 is a semi-automatic marksman rifle with high damage and great mobility, but it’s limited by significant first-shot recoil. This means it’ll likely struggle in close-quarters compared to burst options.
Having said that, Activision has also announced Modern Warfare 4 will be the new installment arriving later this year. Check our guide on how to pre-order the MW4 Vault Edition, its price, skins, and more benefits you get
