Having been lucky enough to have spent well over a year travelling all over the spellbinding island of Sri Lanka, mostly by grumbling Ashok Leyland public buses, I’ve come to realise just how diverse this tiny jewel of an island really is.
There’s dense rainforest that’s over 200 million years old and all manner of endemic birdlife in Crayola crayon shades. There are also rugged coastlines, towering mist-laced mountains shrouded in myth and legend, and towns so mesmerising they’ll fill your camera roll in seconds. And don’t even get me started on the food.
