After having a lot of routes and problems spelled out for you in the opening hours of 007 First Light, the fireplace puzzle late into the Carpathian Hotel level comes as a surprise. Not to mention, you're kind of in the middle of an active chase scene when it comes up, so stopping to try and work out a symbol-based puzzle is not really where your head's at.
