What is Blood Hunt mode in Marvel Rivals?

The Blood Hunt mode is a special, limited-time, PvE experience in Marvel Rivals. If you previously played Marvel Zombies, you have a solid idea of what to expect here, as it's essentially a new and improved version of this game mode.

In Blood Hunt, you choose from one of six event heroes and jump into battle alongside three other players. You then fight your way through the city, taking on swarms of deadly vampires and battling against some special bosses along the way.

All Blood Hunt characters in Marvel Rivals

There are six different heroes you can choose to play as in the Blood Hunt event, each of which has a mix of their standard abilities you're familiar with in regular gameplay and new ones special to this mode. All heroes you can build up and play in this mode are as follows.

  • Blade
  • Moon Knight
  • Jeff the Land Shark
  • Squirrel Girl
  • The Punisher
  • Thor

Although there are only six characters to choose from, duplicates are allowed in this mode, which means you can always play whoever you like, even if someone else chooses them, too.

How to upgrade heroes in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt

You can upgrade all six playable characters from the Hero page under the Blood Moon event tab. There are lots of different ways to enhance their abilities, including Gear, Traits, and Arcana.

  • The Gear section includes equippable items you earn for each hero by playing them. There are four categories under this section, which are Weapon, Armor, Accessory, and Exclusive. The more you play and progress, the better Gear you'll earn.
  • The Traits section is essentially a personalized, customizable skill tree that looks different for each hero. You can enhance their stats and unlock additional abilities from this page.
  • The Arcana section is for general hero enhancements.

As you fight your way through swarm after swarm of bloodthirsty vampires in Blood Hunt, you'll also encounter four unique bosses you must beat to progress. At lower-level difficulties, you won't see all of them. Eventually, though, you'll encounter the full group in every round. All formidable foes you'll face in these trials are as follows.

There are four main difficulty levels in the Blood Hunt mode. Nightmare works a bit differently, though, with a variety of additional stages you can tackle as you progress. If you count each of these levels separately, there are technically 17 unique Nightmare stages, adding quite a lot of additional difficulties to tackle if you're up for a real challenge.

  • Normal
  • Hard
  • Extreme
  • Nightmare

When does Blood Hunt end in Marvel Rivals?

The Blood Hunt event is available to complete from April 23 to July 30. If it's anything like the last PvE mode, though, there's a chance it might be extended beyond this. If this happens, we'll update with the new end date here. For now, though, it's best to believe this is the real end date and make sure you claim all available rewards before then.
