All too frequently fashion demands discomfort. It can be restricting and even hard to get around in. Or it's far too revealing for the real world. Trying to pull off sheer skirts or the no pants look is the definition of uncomfortable. Then there are the times when comfort is queen. Case in point: The street style set's proclivity to wear dresses with sneakers.

Of course, not every pair of sneakers goes with every dress. Which is why we need a little guidance. First lesson? Don't worry about finding an exact match. Black dresses don't have to be styled with black sneakers. High-tops are just as good as lower silhouettes. The former work especially well with minidresses. Don't be afraid of socks, either. It's totally acceptable to flaunt the crew variety.
