How to make your own Barbie movie poster meme as it takes over the internet

Social media has been in a frenzy ever since Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ unveiled the star studded cast that will feature in Barbieland this summer. Posters for the film dropped on Tuesday (April 4) in the unique form of an original meme.

The highly anticipated film is set to hit cinemas on July 21, 2023, starring Margot Robbie, 32, as Barbie alongside her boyfriend Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, 42.

Other celebs that were revealed to be appearing in the movie include, Netflix’s Sex Education cast members Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey and Connor Swindells.

Will Ferrell will play the CEO of Mattel, and even Helen Mirren narrates the film.

Since the posters dropped, everyone has been obsessed with the Barbie meme and have been wondering how they too can make themselves look like a resident in Barbieland.

To celebrate the release of the new posters, Warner Bros Entertainment has released a free tool called the Barbie Selfie Generator, so you can live out your wildest Barbie (or Ken!) dreams.

We decided to give it ago using Scottish singing legend Lewis Capaldi, and here's how it turned out.

Here is what Lewis Capaldi would look like on a poster of the Barbie movie (MEN)

If you want to join in on the fun, first head to Barbie Selfie AI where it will say “Welcome to Barbieland, where you can be Barbie (or Ken). Click below to become an instant icon!”

Follow the instructions by clicking start and uploading a photo of yourself or take a new selfie.

It will then get you to move the picture about until you’re happy with its position. You can also edit the caption and change the background colour using the tools on the screen.

Thousands of people have been joining in on the meme and sharing their results on Twitter.

@jasebyjason tweeted: "The Barbie posters are so terrific! Fun, colourful, sparkly, exciting, easily translated into memes and filters. A real masterclass in marketing."

@victoriasanusi said: "Barbie team need to make a tiktok filter or something because I wanna be in the poster too."

While @imtiffanyblair tweeted: "Help I can’t stop making Barbie posters."
