When Lisa McGee was in the middle of writing Derry Girls’ third season, Covid struck. The world shut down – and so did filming for the last season of the beloved comedy series.
At a loss for what to do, McGee’s brain got to work. “I had this idea and I wrote a pilot in the gap when I couldn't do anything on Derry Girls and kind of just put it away,” she tells me.
