Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings back the classic Wanted Level system from the original game. If you prefer sailing around and sinking everything in sight, keep an eye on the horizon, as it won’t take long for Pirate Hunters to appear.
Here’s everything you need to know about Wanted Level in Black Flag Resynced and how to clear it.
Wanted Level in AC Black Flag Resynced, explained
As you attack English or Spanish ships in Black Flag Resynced, your Wanted Level in the top right corner increases. Sinking a ship further increases the Wanted Level. Once you reach Wanted Level one (which only takes sinking a few ships), you become a target for Pirate Hunters.
Pirate Hunters are ships with red sails marked with the black flag on the radar. At level one, the Pirate Hunter is only a Brig, but increasing the Wanted Level further attracts more ships of higher classes. Pirate Hunters won’t leave you alone until you defeat them or remove the Wanted Level. Keep in mind that sinking Pirate Hunters also increases the Wanted Level.
While the Wanted Level is meant to keep your plundering in check, it can also be useful to acquire new ships for Kenway’s fleet. At a higher Wanted Level, you can try to capture a Man o’ War, as long as the Jackdaw is well-equipped.
How to get rid of the Wanted Level in AC Black Flag Resynced
Board ships
If you’re in the middle of a naval battle and want to lower the Wanted Level, board an enemy ship. Get the ship low until the grappling hook icon appears above its healthbar, get close to it, and begin boarding. During boarding, kill soldiers and cut the flag to reduce morale until they surrender.
After capturing the ship and collecting the loot, there are a few things you can do. You can send the ship to Kenway’s fleet, loot the lockbox (on larger ships), repair the Jackdaw, or lower the Wanted Level. Lowering the Wanted Level this way drops it by around one.
Bribe local officers
On land, you can bribe local officers for 400 Reales to clear the Wanted Level. Local officers are located in major POIs like Nassau and Kingston (marked with a crossed-swords icon), but you can also find them at cleared forts and other smaller islands.
Even with the Wanted Level, you can still fast-travel to towns, as long as you’re out of combat. If you can’t deal with the attacking ships, try to get outside of their range, then use the map to travel to the local officer.
