With new games regularly being brought out, keeping up with the latest releases can prove to be costly but they don't have to be thanks to advice from a money saving expert. Whether you have a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo, there are ways to get your hands on games for a cheaper price.
Opting for a gaming subscription can be a good way to save money, with a monthly subscription providing you with access to a library of games. Tom Church, the co-founder of Latest Deals, has revealed that signing up to a subscription service could see customers save £350 on Xbox games.
Tom said: "Paying a monthly subscription for a games library can seem like an excellent deal, but if you want to receive the most features and new game releases, it's worth taking the time to compare products and choose carefully. What's more, everyone's gaming styles are different, some will prefer getting access to the newest games, others will like a laid-back session with classic titles and more, some will have a preference for specific games they can easily spend hours on."

Xbox Game Pass - best for accessing new releases
Providing users with access to a library of over 100 high-quality games, the Xbox Game Pass sees new games added regularly, including day one releases. Gamers can try out the subscription service for £1 and see if they like it, before joining for a monthly fee of £10.99. The Game Pass also comes with Xbox Live Gold and EA Play membership included, along with other free perks and exclusive member discount.
Weighing up the benefits of the service, Tom said: "The first plus point about Xbox Game Pass is that you can try out this subscription for just £1 and see how many games you really end up playing. If you are playing multiple titles that would cost you more to purchase individually outside of this plan, you'll definitely be getting more bang for your buck by sticking with it.
"However, if you only tend to play a game or two after the novelty of downloading as many games as you like wears off, then it may be cheaper in the long run to buy the titles separately."
PlayStation Now - best for classic and vintage titles
The PlayStation Now service comes with hundreds of PS4, PS3 and PS2 games that can be played on demand on your PS5, PS4 or Windows PC. New games are added to the service every month and include family favourites, iconic adventures and some of the hottest recent releases.
A monthly subscription to PlayStation Now costs £8.99 per month, with the option to purchase a three month package for £22.99 or an annual plan for £49.99. Tom said: "If you are a fan of classic games, or you already have a PlayStation that you don't want to sell or trade in, there's no doubt that PlayStation Now can be great value depending on your circumstances.
"But in terms of games, you'll have to decide if you're likely to actually use the games in the PS Now subscription, or whether it's better to make the occasional purchase of a newer title."
Nintendo Switch Online - best for fans of specific games
Fans of the Nintendo Switch can sign up for the Nintendo Switch Online service, which provides access to popular games such as Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. Membership also comes with multiplayer features, enabling up to eight people to play at once on compatible games. Subscription costs £3.49 a month, and Nintendo also offers a seven day trial to decide if you like it before you commit.
Tom added: "Unfortunately, the Switch may not be the best choice if you're looking for a range of popular new releases. It's undoubtedly the cheaper of the three, at £3.49 a month. Plus, it offers a seven day free trial so you can decide if you'll make use of the library you unlock. If you're a dedicated gamer on one or two titles, this could be the perfect option."
