How to get Autozam AZ-1 in Forza Horizon 6 & build it for drag racing

In Forza Horizon 6, the Autozam AZ-1 is a rear-wheel drive sports kei car that you can directly buy from the Autoshow for credits.

It’s a sleeper pick for drag racing thanks to its light weight and tunability, and with the right upgrades and tuning, you can turn this into a serious threat. Here’s how you can get the AZ-1, the upgrades you must buy, with drag builds and tuning.

You can purchase the Autozam AZ-1 from the Autoshow for 38,000 CR in Forza Horizon 6. If you can’t find it immediately, search the Autoshow by “Autozam” or “AZ-1,” as the car will be listed as the 1993 Autozam AZ-1.

Alternatively, you can also get the car for free by checking Festival Playlist and Wheelspins. It can also be purchased as an Aftermarket car or bid on through an Auction House listing.

Why the Autozam AZ-1 is ideal for drag racing in FH6

For starters, the Autozam AZ-1 has a great weight advantage. Its tiny mass makes high power-to-weight ratios easier and more effective. On top of that, a short wheelbase and nimble chassis respond well to traction aids and launch techniques used in drag tuning.

Here are some details of the car:

Field Value
Speed 4.2
Handling 4.2
Accel 3.0
Launch 4.4
Braking 3.0
Offroad 5.2
Class D 342

The car’s field values remain unchanged from Forza Horizon 5 but have become a little costlier (from 25,000 CR in FH5).

How to build an Autozam AZ-1 for drag racing in Forza Horizon 6

To build an Autozam AZ-1 drag build in FH6, you need to swap the engine first. Go for a large, high-rev swap (turbo 4s or big inline swaps) to maximize power. Then swap to All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for maximum launch traction.

Anti-lag and big turbo or twin setups are available, so use them accordingly. Anti-lag turbo setups are ideal for quick spool and big launches. Use the race driveline and transmission (6-speed race) to unlock firm gearing control.

You also have to ensure the car reaches maximum weight reduction to exploit the high power-to-weight ratio. Coming to tires, wheels, and aero, use drag tires to the front and rear, drag wheels (light rears if available), wide body if you want to run big rubber. Aero should be minimal unless you need stability at very high trap speeds.

Best Autozam AZ-1 drag builds in Forza Horizon 6

900 hp build

This is the easiest version to drive and the best place to start if you want consistent launches instead of wild wheelspin. Tuning for the AZ-1 favors AWD, drag tires, race driveline, and neutral alignment.

Build Details Parts and Values
Parts to install AWD conversion
Race transmission
Race driveline
Drag tires
Max weight reduction
Single turbo or anti-lag turbo setup if available, but keep output capped near 900 hp
Tune Tire pressure: 15 front, 15 rear
Final drive: 2.35
Gears: 1st 2.55, 2nd 1.98, 3rd 1.58, 4th 1.31, 5th 1.10, 6th 0.92
Alignment: 0 camber, 0 toe, 7 caster
Antiroll bars: Full stiff front and rear
Springs: max front, minimum rear
Damping: front rebound 20, rear rebound 1, front bump 1, rear bump 20
Differential: front accel 100, front decel 0, rear accel 100, rear decel 0, center balance 75
Why it works This setup keeps the car calm at launch and helps you hit a clean 60-foot without overdriving the front end
It is also the safest tune if you are using automatic or manual without a clutch

1,200 hp build

This should be the sweet spot for most.

Build Details Parts and Values
Parts to install AWD conversion
Race transmission and race driveline
Drag tires with the widest legal rear setup
Max weight reduction
2J-style or similar high-output swap if your build path allows it, plus turbo boost and anti-lag where possible
Tune Tire pressure: 15 front, 15 rear
Final drive: 2.20
Gears: 1st 2.49, 2nd 1.94, 3rd 1.56, 4th 1.30, 5th 1.09, 6th 0.91
Alignment: 0 camber, 0 toe, 7 caster
Antiroll bars: full stiff front and rear
Springs: max front, minimum rear
Damping: front rebound 20, rear rebound 1, front bump 1, rear bump 20
Differential: front accel 100, rear accel 100, center balance 75
Why it works This setup matches the most proven AZ-1 drag shape, including high power, AWD traction, and short enough gearing to keep the car in boost through the run
It is the best all-around pick if you want a fast car that still feels usable

1,600 hp build

This is the wild setup, as it’s the one you build when you want maximum speed and do not mind spending more time tuning the launch so the car does not blow the tires away.

Build Details Parts and Values
Parts to install AWD conversion
Race driveline and race transmission
Highest-output engine swap available to you, with anti-lag turbo if possible
Drag tires, max width where the game allows it
Max weight reduction
Keep aero minimal unless the build becomes unstable at top end
Tune Tire pressure: 14.5 front, 14.5 rear
Final drive: 2.05
Gears: 1st 2.40, 2nd 1.86, 3rd 1.49, 4th 1.24, 5th 1.05, 6th 0.88
Alignment: 0 camber, 0 toe, 7 caster
Antiroll bars: full stiff front and rear
Springs: max front, minimum rear, then soften rear one click if the car hops
Damping: front rebound 20, rear rebound 1, front bump 1, rear bump 20
Differential: front accel 100, rear accel 100, center balance 78
Why it works At this power level, the car will try to destroy its own grip, so the job of the tune is to slow the launch down just enough to let the tires hook
A slightly taller final drive also helps keep the car from hitting the limiter too early on the big end

Best Autozam AZ-1 launch settings

For all three builds, the same launch routine works well. Turn traction control off, use standard steering, and rely on launch control if your setup supports it. Also, lean heavily on e-brake launching and clean shift timing.

  • Launch RPM for 900 hp: around 6,000 to 6,500
  • Launch RPM for 1,200 hp: around 6,500 to 7,000
  • Launch RPM for 1,600 hp: around 7,000 to 7,500, then back off if it spins too hard

If the car spins, lower the launch RPM before changing anything else. If it bogs, shorten the final drive a little or raise launch RPM in small steps. If it runs out of gear too early, lengthen sixth gear or lower the final drive slightly.

Run three clean passes, then only change one thing at a time. That is the easiest way to find the best AZ-1 drag tune without getting lost. The car is light enough that small changes in gearing and differential balance make a big difference.

Having that said, make sure you have the best controller, PC settings, and wheel settings sorted. And if you’re into drifting, check the best drift cars in FH6.
