If you've found a red force field blocking your path in Star Wars Outlaws, you're likely looking for where to get a Slicing Kit. Examining the terminal next to the barrier reveals that you need this piece of tech if you want to get at whatever loot is contained within. Thankfully, you can acquire one of these kits quite close to the start of the game with some help from an expert.
These professionals teach you a variety of abilities that you can unlock if you complete the prerequisite steps. In this case, you'll need the help of The Slicer, which requires you to complete a quest. Doing so will get you the Slicing Kit, but also unlock other potential abilities like sneakier sprinting and a smoke bomb you can use on enemies.
