A popular pub in Rochdale is due to finally reopen after undergoing major six figure refurb. The Hornet will reopen its doors ahead of the busy Christmas period on Friday (November 11) and as part of their new menu, children can eat for just a pound.
The Hungry Horse site, on Helmsman Lane, has been revamped from top to bottom, including an expansion of the garden space and new child's play area for families.
Manager Nick Bidwell said he is 'delighted' at the refurb ahead of what is set to be an 'undoubtedly busy period' over the Christmas season.

The six-figure overhaul has seen the pub’s garden space expanded, with a heated pergola and covered seating outdoors. A new child’s play area is also due to be finished shortly after the pub reopens.
Inside there has been a revamp to the decor, including new flooring, colours schemes and furniture with a new layout, providing a more open bar and restaurant space. Customers will also benefit from self-service unlimited coffee.
As well as offering a usual wide range of pub favourites, new dishes have been added to the menu with a range of budget friendly deals across the week, including kids eat for £1 every Monday.
Situated just off the M62, close the Kingsway Business Park, Newbold metro stations and the Rochdale canal, the Hornet is popular location for commuters, as well as families and walkers.
Nick Bidwell, general manager of the Hornet, said: “This refurbishment is a major one for the pub and the community. It’s allowed us to enhance every aspect of our offering to our customers, be that a quality dining experience or an ideal setting to enjoy a drink both inside and outside.
“We’re delighted with the outcome of the investment and we can’t wait to welcome customers back to meet our newly expanded team ahead of an exciting and undoubtedly busy Christmas period.”
