The UK is gearing up for a long weekend of parties as it celebrates the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee.
Honouring her 70 years on the throne, it is a historic weekend for the country and a once in a lifetime celebration.
As it is starting on Thursday June 2, it means that there will be many changes taking place for the typical working week.
One among them is the bin collection times, with countless councils moving around the normal pickup times.

What Platinum Jubilee events are taking place?
The main Platinum Jubilee celebrations will kick off with the Queen’s birthday parade – Trooping the Colour.
Taking place on June 2, it will see over 1,200 soldiers and officers from the Household Division put on a military marching display to pay homage to the Queen.
Platinum Jubilee beacons will be lit across the UK and Overseas Territories with the Principal Beacon being fired up outside Buckingham Palace.
On June 3, the Service of Thanksgiving will be held, honouring the Queen’s long reign at St Paul’s Cathedral.
On June 4, the Platinum Party at the Palace is taking place at Buckingham Palace and will be available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
On June 5, the Big Jubilee Lunch will be held, with street parties lining the roads across the UK.
