Former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua makes his ring return in London later this year, facing Jermaine Franklin on Saturday night (April 1) as he hopes to bounce back from three defeats in his last five fights.
Having lost his titles to Oleksandr Usyk, the 33-year old marks his comeback against Franklin, 29, who was beaten by Dillian Whyte in London last November. Prior to that fight, he was unbeaten and regarded as a rising star of the division but a points defeat to Whyte stopped him in his tracks.
A date with Joshua is a huge opportunity for Franklin, with the winner potentially moving on to a big fight later this year in the heavyweight division. Deontay Wilder could be an option, while Joe Joyce or Daniel Dubois could both provide Joshua with a huge British contest should he be able to beat Franklin as expected.

The hope for Joshua's and new trainer Derrick James will be that a win can build his confidence, with Franklin a dangerous opponent but certainly not of world championship pedigree at present. The fight will take place as part of a Matchroom promotion and fans can expect to see an exciting night of boxing in East London.
