NEW DELHI: Last year when Sumit Nagal spoke about the “hardships” and “lonely battles” he faces on the ATP Tour, India’s best men’s singles player also pointed out the consequent “funds-related issues” he encounters to sustain his tennis career.
Sumit, in a fervent appeal, had said that he had just 900 euros (approximately Rs 80,000) left in his bank account and needed a “big sponsor” to prolong his tennis career.
