India has been facing criticism from policymakers in the US and West for trying to profit from the Ukraine war as it emerged as one of the key buyers of cheap Russia oil in the wake of Western sanctions. External affairs minister S Jaishankar had, time and again, defended India's purchase of Russia oil, saying it helped contain global inflation.
At the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Jaishankar again reaffirmed India's position and determination to continue purchasing Russian oil despite the sanctions imposed on Moscow due to its military engagement with Ukraine, asserting that this decision should not concern others.
