With plug-in solar panels now hitting UK retailers, many households have a simpler way to generate their own electricity, without the cost and commitment of a full rooftop solar installation. Rather than having large panels fixed to the roof and wired into the home by an installer, these smaller systems can be mounted on a balcony, wall, terrace or garden frame and connected to the property through an approved plug-in setup.
