In what is no doubt an interesting exercise, the NFLPA recently tasked players from all 32 teams, including the Tennessee Titans, to grade their respective squads on how things are run in the building.
There were eight categories players were tasked with providing grades for, including treatment of families, nutrition, weight room, strength staff, training room, training staff, locker room and travel.
Tennessee received passing grades and no lower than a “C” in each category except for one, which was travel. Interestingly enough, the training staff was tied for the highest grade the team received.
Before we get to the actual grades the Titans received, here’s a breakdown of how the NFLPA arrived at each.
The Tennessee Titans ranked 18th in the team guide, with most of the areas of review coming back at slightly above average according to player respondents. Head Coach Mike Vrabel is popular among his players and stands as one of the highest-ranked coaches in the league.
Player respondents’ major concerns centered around personal space, both in the facility and while traveling. Players indicated that there is not enough personal space in the locker room; 34% of the players feel they do not have enough room to spread out on the plane. The Titans are one of six teams that still make younger players have roommates, and one of seven teams that do not have players sit in first class.
91% of players feel that Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk is willing to invest money into upgrading their facilities.
Now, a look at the grades the Titans received in each category and how they stacked up with the rest of the NFL.
