How parties are united on statehood for J&K but divided on Article 370

NEW DELHI: As the chances of assembly election in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir grow brighter, the prominent political parties have started taking positions on the burning issues, particularly Article 370 of the Constitution which was nullified by Parliament in August 2019.

The issue has come into spotlight because of two important developments which took place last month – firstly, the third anniversary of the nullification of the two Acts on August 3 and, secondly, the resignation of veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who belongs to the UT, from the party on August 26.
