It made its debut on New Year’s Day and this weekend The Masked Singer came to an end for another year with Charlotte Church revealed to be Mushroom.
Following in the footsteps of previous winners Nicola Roberts, who won as Queen Bee in 2020 and Sausage, last year’s winner who turned out to be Joss Stone, a whole host of different celebrities have been in disguise as both the panel in the studio and millions of viewers at home try to work out their identities.
Just three characters remained going into Saturday’s final and the hot tip to be Mushroom was Charlotte.
One of the biggest giveaways that it was Charlotte behind the mask was the fact she sang Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy in the week that Masked Singer host Joel Dommett said that the song choices were a huge clue.

The track’s title was a clear nod to Charlotte’s own single Crazy Chick.
It may be hard to believe that Charlotte is now 35 years old!
She was propelled to fame in the 90s when she sang Pie Jesu over the phone to Richard and Judy on This Morning before appearing on ITV’s Big Big Talent Show in front of millions of viewers.
Those two moments changed Charlotte’s life forever as she was soon signed to a huge record deal and her voice became known the world over.
She released debut album Voice of an Angel in 1998 which topped the British classical charts and was also a huge hit in the main UK top 40.
Her self titled second album followed in 2000 and then in early 2003, Charlotte shocked everyone by adopting the moniker CMC to appear as guest vocalist on Jurgen Vries’ Brave New World (The Opera Song), which reached number three in the charts.
At this point Charlotte was a regular in the tabloids thanks to her relationships with boyfriends Steven Johnson and Kyle Johnson.
She started her high profile relationship with rugby star Gavin Henson in 2005, who she went onto have two children with before their split in 2010.
The year she started dating Gavin also saw the release of her first pop album Tissues & Issues, which was launched with Crazy Chick, its lead single which soared to number 2 in the top 40.
Other singles from the album included Call My Name and Moodswings.
In 2010, as well as appearing as a judge on BBC talent show Over the Rainbow, Charlotte released another album - Back to Scratch.
Charlotte’s more recent musical project - Charlotte Church’s Pop Dungeon has proved to be a huge hit at festivals across the UK.
As well as being Mushroom on The Masked Singer, Charlotte's other TV appearances over the years have included Heartbeat - something else eluded to in Mushroom's clues - The Catherine Tate Show and her own Channel 4 series The Charlotte Church Show.
She has so just returned to screens with property show Charlotte Church’s Dream Build.
