Prime Minister Liz Truss has made addressing the cost of living crisis a priority as she first moved to No 10. Under new plans revealed just before Queen Elizabeth II died, the new PM said household energy prices will be frozen for two years.
It seems like a long time since that commitment was made, but it's still part of the blueprint for easing the financial burden on families this winter. The new Energy Price Guarantee - or October Price Freeze - starts from October 1.
According to the government, this means that a typical household will pay an average of £2,500 a year on their energy bills, frozen until 2024. But households should bear in mind that the £2,500 quoted for an average household, reports ChronicleLive.
