According to a newly published Pew Research Center survey, Americans seem to have a more negative view of Mexico, while the opposite is true for Mexico.
Around 61% of Mexicans view the U.S. as favorable, while 33% don't. In almost the exact opposite, 60% of Americans have a negative outlook on Mexico, while 37% see it as favorable.
However, this wasn't the case as recently as 2017. When Donald Trump was president another Pew Research Center study found that 65% of Americans had a positive view of Mexico while only 29% of Mexicans felt the same way about the U.S.
Pew Research did point out that before 2020 all their surveys were done over the phone and now they're all conducted online. That alone can skew results and make the two studies not "directly comparable."

The survey also found that more Americans disapprove of how the U.S. government deals with migrants seeking asylum at the border compared to Mexicans.
A whopping 83% of Americans think the U.S. government is "doing a bad job dealing with migrants at the border."
Mexicans still disapprove, albeit at a lower rate, with 52% of those surveyed saying they think the U.S. is doing a bad job at the border.
