Not only is Shane Lowry chasing the title of the Masters champion, but he is also competing for a huge payday.
The Offaly man would become the first ever Irishman to don the green jacket at Augusta National Golf Club.
It would be the second major championship of Lowry's career after his historic 2019 Open triumph at Royal Portrush.
And whatever his form for the rest of his career, Lowry will always have the opportunity to compete at Augusta for as long as he wishes.
Before this week, Lowry had a very moderate record at the venue. In six appearances, he missed the cut three times before a career-best share of 21st last year.
"This place is hard at the best of times," said Lowry after Friday's round. "When you are throwing a 20- or 30-mile-an-hour gust of wind in as well, you get down to Amen Corner, you won't believe how hard it is down there."
The official prize break down has not been confirmed but it is believed last year's €10.5m purse will remain the same.
