Manchester United fans' worries were hugely alleviated last night when the club announced the news they'd been wanting to hear for years - the Glazer family are exploring a sale.
Disheartened by a lack of spending, facility improvements and, above all, a lack of trophies and forward planning, fans have called for the Americans to leave for over a decade with only the brilliance of Sir Alex Ferguson somewhat prolonging the reign of success he brought to United from 1986 to 2005.
After reaching a deal by mutual consent to cancel Cristiano Ronaldo 's contract earlier in the day, the Glazers make even bigger news when they released a club statement announcing their intentions to take the club in a different strategical direction. That, as they said, was 'through including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the company," and fans will be interested to see just where their future lies.

As of today, the Glazer family own two sports clubs; the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL in Florida, and a 90 per cent stake in Manchester United.
How much do they value Manchester United at?
Malcolm Glazer, who bought United in a £790million deal back in 2005 by slowly edging out United's shareholders at the time, made a significant return on his investment.
Following his passing in 2014, he split the 90 per cent club share equally between his six children.
In 2012, they sold 10 per cent of their share on the stock market and have sold further shares since.
They made a significant valuation on the club recently of around £3.7bn, albeit that has also risen to almost £4bn since.
How much are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth?
There are a lot of varying figures on the value of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though as recent Super Bowl winners, current estimates value the NFL giants at around £2bn.
Total worth
Forbes estimated the value of the Glazers at around £4.1bn back in 2015; before the ever-increasing football prices and Tampa Bay's successes in the NFL increased that even more. With both clubs totalling a value of around £6bn, plus other assets the family have, that number could well be worth more than £6.5bn.
