How many points Arsenal need to be crowned Premier League champions over Manchester City

Arsenal can see the finishing line with 10 games remaining of the 2022/23 season and it is shaping up to be one to remember.

Beating Crystal Palace 4-1 at the weekend, coupled with Manchester City's FA Cup commitments at home to Burnley, means the Gunners now have an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table and whilst the reigning champions have a game in hand, Mikel Arteta's side, as things stand, are in control of their own destiny.

But there's still a long way to go before Arsenal supporters can dream about seeing Martin Odegaard becoming the first captain since Patrick Vieira in May 2004 to lift the Premier League trophy aloft, especially with trips to Anfield and the Etihad Stadium on the horizon.

Although, 94 points will be enough for the north London outfit to be crowned champions over Man City. This is because Pep Guardiola's side - who currently sit second - can only reach the aforementioned points total were they to win every single one of their remaining 11 fixtures

Mathematically, albeit very unlikely, as many as seven teams can still win the league. In fact, the maximum points total for those teams is as follows: Manchester United (86), Tottenham Hotspur (79), Newcastle United (83), Liverpool (78), Brighton (81), Brentford (75) and Fulham (72).

Of course, it would take an almighty collapse from the Gunners to finish below all seven teams and the fact there are games between teams chasing the title or a place in Europe still to be played, only one side - as unlikely as it is - has a chance of ending the season with a perfect winning record.

If City are able to remain perfect between now and the end of May, then it means Arsenal would need another 25 points - they are currently sitting on 69 points - to reach the magic 94-point mark which, in an ideal scenario, works out to be eight wins and a draw from their remaining 10 fixtures.

However, with the top two set to clash at the Etihad Stadium next month, were the Gunners to record a victory over City in the Premier League for the first time since December 2015, then 91 points would be enough to be crowned champions of England once again.

That works out to be seven wins - including the Man City fixture - and a draw in the dream scenario where Arteta's side could afford to lose twice. Furthermore, with the Cityzens facing Liverpool after the international break, the possibility of dropped points can only benefit the Gunners.

With that said, it's looking like if Arsenal can win between six to eight of their remaining 10 fixtures, they will have a great chance of coming out on top in this season's exciting, yet unexpected, Premier League title race.
