The Grand National features some of the most memorable fences on the National Hunt calendar, with Beecher's Brook featuring on the 4 mile 514 yard course.
It is the longest race on the National Hunt calendar and takes in 30 fences in the two laps of the course, with 16 fences on the course, 14 of them to be jumped twice.
The going is good to soft, as confirmed by Aintree’s Clerk of the Course Sulekha Varma said: “Last night’s watering went smoothly. We are now back where we started yesterday morning, which is to say Good to Soft, Good in Places on the Mildmay & Hurdle courses, and Good to Soft on the Grand National Course.
“The weather on Randox Grand National Day is set to be very much like yesterday, with just a chance of an isolated shower.”
Here is a list of the fences on the Grand National course, how high they are and what they are called.
