It's the show that has viewers all over the world are glued to year after year and this year's Eurovision Song Contest final is now firmly on the horizon as Italy get ready to put on a big spectacle.
This year's Eurovision is happening in Italy after rock group Maneskin triumphed in Rotterdam, with their song Zitti E Buoni, seeing off some tough competition from France's Barbara Pravi and Switzerland's Gjon's Tears, with the result all changing thank to the now crucial tele vote, where viewers votes are added to those cast by each country's jury. Other Eurovision winners from the past 10 years have included Duncan Laurence, who scored a huge worldwide hit with his song Arcade after triumphing in 2019; Netta who took victory for Italy in 2018 and Jamala, who won for Ukraine in 2016 with her, more poignant now than ever track, 1944.
Eurovision 2022 will take place in Turin, with the rehearsals, two semi finals and Saturday May 14's grand final all happening at the Pala Olimpico arena. The majority of countries taking part in this year will need to make it through the semis before their thoughts turn to the final.
