When Riot Games announced 2XKO, called by its codename Project L back then, people immediately started fantasizing about which League of Legends characters would fit a fighting game better.
There’s Lee Sin, a blind monk who fights with kicks and punches. Sett, a literal brawler from the arena. Riven, whose entire League of Legends moveset was based on Marth from Super Smash Bros.
When Riot Games announced that 2XKO was going to be a tag fighter instead of a traditional 1 vs. 1 one, the community enthusiasm also doubled. But as it turned out, 2XKO’s development team chose to release the game with fewer playable characters rather than delay it indefinitely, and to add fighters over the course of the following years.
So, who are the 12 champions that made the initial Season 1 cut?
2XKO’s Season 1 character roster

Ahri: A Vastaya from Ionia who struggles with her ability to absorb life essence from humans. Formed an unlikely friendship with Yasuo. Archetype: Rushdown.
Blitzcrank: A Zaunite golem that was built for hazardous work, which was repurposed into a protector for the people of the undercity. Archetype: Grappler.
Braum: A legendary hero from the Freljord region, known in-universe for his larger-than-life mythos and positive outlook on life. Archetype: Bruiser.
Caitlyn: 2XKO’s newest fighter, she’s the Sheriff of Piltover and heir to one of the city’s prominent houses. One of the protagonists of the Arcane show. Archetype: Zoner.

Darius: Known as the Hand of Noxus, he’s a top-ranking military general whose authority is built on real accomplishments on the battlefield. Archetype: Striker.
Ekko: A Zaunite prodigy, who’s also featured prominently in Arcane. Has a thing for Jinx, and their song is a thing of beauty. Archetype: Mixup.
Illaoi: A kraken priestess and a spiritual leader of the Buhru people who worship the god Nagakabouros, with a worldview centered on motion, trial, and proving one’s strength of spirit. Archetype: Bruiser.
Jinx: A Zaunite orphan who’s the central character of the entire Arcane storyline. One of the headline characters of the whole franchise. Archetype: Zoner.
Teemo: A yordle scout from Bandle City. Super cheerful and upbeat on the surface, but will do anything and go to any lengths to finish his mission. Archetype: Trap.
Vi: Another prominent Arcane character and Jinx’s sister. In League of Legends, she’s known as Piltover’s chief enforcer and Caitlyn’s partner. Archetype: Rushdown.
Warwick: Formerly a father figure to both Jinx and Vi, he was transformed into an insatiable beast through brutal experimentation. Archetype: Rushdown.
Yasuo: A disgraced and exiled Ionian swordsman on a lifelong redemption arc. One of League’s most recognizable characters. Archetype: All-rounder.
While 12 is not a very big number for any kind of tag fighter, Riot Games is committed to bringing five new characters into 2XKO across 2026. Hopefully, there is room on the roster for some quirky picks!
