How Man Utd could line up after ditching 'trio of troublemakers' in Ralf Rangnick overhaul

Ralf Rangnick is looking to offload three Manchester United stars who are negatively affecting the dressing room, according to reports.

The interim boss is attempting to manage a group of players who have copped criticism for their conduct under previous managers.

Player power has increased over the years and Rangnick is looking to get rid of three players, one of whom is Paul Pogba, as he attempts to improve the atmosphere.

The January transfer window has presented the German with the first opportunity to shape his squad.

So far no new faces have arrived and the immediate priority may be getting players off the books.

Bild report that Rangnick is looking to offload Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Cavani because the trio have too much influence in the dressing room and are 'killing the mood'.

Martial is already looking to move on this month with Sevilla keen on the Frenchman.

The forward was vocal regarding his desire to leave having never truly fulfilled his potential at Old Trafford.

Pogba meanwhile has months to run on his deal and looks set to leave Manchester for nothing after years of utilising the media to tease his future.

The midfielder remains the club's £89m record-signing but his agent Mino Raiola has not been shy in criticising United.

Rangnick did claim earlier this week that he would continue playing Pogba despite his uncertain future.

He said: "Why shouldn’t Paul Pogba now, after two and a half months of injury, fully fit again, and he wants to show the fans of Manchester United, the board, the whole world what kind of player he can be?

"Even if it’s only to show enough for a new contract elsewhere, he will be highly motivated to do that and why should I then not play him?"

Cavani meanwhile has been linked with a move as his contract is also up in the summer.

Rangnick held showdown talks with the Uruguayan this month regarding an early exit and supposedly received assurances about his commitment for the remainder of the season.

Neither of the aforementioned trio are guaranteed starters.

It means their possible exits may not affect the state of the starting XI, even if they are immensely talented.

Cavani and Martial have been squad options in attack whilst Pogba's best position has been a source of debate since his return to England in 2016.

Scott McTominay and Fred have continued to play regularly whilst Bruno Fernandes could take on a new role as a No 8.

Rangnick is also not short of wide options with Cristiano Ronaldo often the starting striker.
