How Malik Tillman Rangers transfer decision hinges on Gnabry and Sane 'drama' as Bayern Munich return door opens

Playmaker Malik Tillman faces a "big decision" over his Rangers future - with futures of Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry in doubt at Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old has impressed under Michael Beale and has showcased his best form on loan from the European heavyweights since the Londoner's arrival, and his form prior to picking up a calf and hamstring knock could see the club trigger a £5million option for a permanent deal should the Germans decides to sell him this summer. However, Bayern could offer the USA international a second chance in the first-team when he returns to Bavaria.

Sane has reportedly failed to agree a new contract with Bayern, and with his deal set to expire in 2025 the Bundesliga leaders could look to cash in, while Gnabry has struggled to hit top form this season while being touted with a move to Real Madrid. Former America international Eric Wynalda reckons a door could be opening for Tillman at his parent club.

The experienced ex-international and coach told The Action Network's Wondergoal Podcast: "Malik Tillman has some big decisions to make. The main reason why Bayern might be asking for his services would be the drama unfolding with Gnabry and Sane, who are also experiencing their own should I stay or should I go situation.

"The point of the loan was never that Bayern didn’t want him. It was more that they didn't need him when they decided to loan him out. His performances at Rangers have been very good and Bayern have been keeping a close eye on his progress. At the time of the original loan Rangers was really the only landing spot that made sense. Because he has truly proven himself now there are multiple teams that would take a very serious look at him on a permanent move. His price tag has certainly gone up."
