How long is left on Antonio Rudiger's contract at Chelsea?

With speculation growing as every passing week goes by, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger's future at Stamford Bridge is still in huge doubt given the current issues surrounding ownership of the club. The sanctions are preventing ticket sales, stopping the Blues from signing new contracts with players or staff and buying selling or loaning players all while the club attempt to complete the 21/22 campaign.

Rudiger's situation had already presented a difficult challenge in itself, as the German international continues to argue that he should become one of the highest-paid players at the club. Discussions are said to have been ongoing for months but with Chelsea and the player still unable to agree to anything and the club now unable to offer a new deal due to the sanctions imposed by the UK government, the 29-year-old could soon be heading for the exit door.

His impact since the arrival of German head coach Thomas Tuchel is something that cannot be disputed. Claiming the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup in the past 12 months, Rudiger has been a mainstay in his starting XI throughout, further proving his worth to this current Chelsea team.

How long is left on Rudiger's current contract?

Rudiger's current Chelsea deal is set to expire on June 30, 2022.

When and where did Chelsea sign Rudiger from?

The Blues signed Rudiger from Serie A side AS Roma back in July 2017 with the fee said to be around £31.5million.

Why hasn't Rudiger signed a new deal with Chelsea?

there is said to be a substantial gap between Rudiger's demands and Chelsea's current offer to the defender. The German international is reported to feel disappointed with the offers made to him so far given his recent performances in the team.

In August, the Blues made an offer in the region of £140,000 per week, but the former Roma star is understood to be hoping for a figure in excess of £200,000. Fellow defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are also out of contract in the summer months too.
