How Is Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Stock Performance Compared to Technology Stocks

Spring, Texas-based Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) develops intelligent solutions in the United States, the Americas, and internationally. The company has a market cap of $74.2 billion and operates in five segments: Server, Hybrid Cloud, Networking, Financial Services, and Corporate Investments and Other, and offers general-purpose servers, workload-optimized servers, and integrated systems, among others.

Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically called “large-cap stocks.” HPE fits squarely into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold and reflecting its substantial size and influence in the communication equipment industry.

However, the company currently trades 10.1% below its 52-week high of $64.25 recorded on June 2. HPE has grown 19.4% over the past three months, outperforming the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLK) marginal decline over the same period.

In the longer term, HPE has delivered a similar performance. The stock has grown 136.5% over the past 52 weeks, rallying 36.2% rise of XLK over the same period. HPE has been trading above its 200-day and 50-day moving averages since late March, with a couple of fluctuations.

On Aug. 26, HPE stock rose 3.4% following the release of its Q3 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter amounted to $15.7 billion, surpassing the Street’s estimates. Additionally, its adjusted EPS came in at $0.83, also topping the consensus estimates. HPE expects its EPS to range from 69 cents to 79 cents for the ongoing quarter, and $3.19 to $3.29 for the full year.

When stacked against its peer, Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI) has declined 2.5% over the past year, underperforming HPE stock.

Wall Street has a moderately bullish view of the stock currently. Among the 21 analysts tracking HPE, the overall consensus stands at a “Moderate Buy.” Its mean price target of $68.21 suggests a 19.7% upside potential from current price levels.
