It feels like time since any weekend forecast said "plenty of fine weather", but that is what the Met Office is saying for Wales. Temperatures could be higher than 20°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern has admitted that many people would be "dissatisfied" with the weather so far this spring, but promised there has been a change.
Presenting the 10-day trend for the UK, he said: "Things have been wetter than normal, especially in the south, and we haven't seen much sunshine and it hasn't felt that warm."
Explaining that the jet stream has moved from the south to the north of the UK, he said: "There will be some showers around but generally speaking with the jet stream to the north that is where the low pressure will go, meaning high pressure from the Azores will be pulled in."
While he said the UK will not be "entirely immune" to cloud and showers, but "on the whole" high pressure will be in charge bringing dry and settled weather.
The Met Office forecast for Wales this week says: "Any rain easing through the morning on Friday, leaving plenty of sunny spells into the afternoon. Some showers possible, these perhaps heavy and thundery at times. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
"Plenty of fine weather during this period. Some showers are possible, though these mostly light and scattered. Chilly nights with patchy mist in places, but feeling warm in the sunshine."

And it looks set to stay settled well into next week with Wales having the "best of the sunshine".
The Met Office long-range forecast for the UK for Monday, May 22, to Wednesday, May 31, says: "A settled, albeit often rather cloudy start to the week for many with the best chance of sunshine in Wales and southwest England. Occasional rain is likely to occur across parts of norther Britain and Northern Ireland along with possible showers, some potentially heavy, in the east of England.
"As the week progresses and into the following week, the predominantly settled conditions should continue, with mostly fine and dry weather for many areas, though spells of more unsettled weather are possible in the northwest and perhaps far southeast. Winds generally light, but potentially stronger in the far northwest of Scotland and far southeast of England. Daytime temperatures are expected to be generally close to normal, or slightly above normal, for this time of year."
