It is something that has been experienced by all of us. The rising cost of living crisis has really been felt over the winter - from household bills to petrol prices, we have all noticed the effect on our purse strings.
But perhaps those who have felt it the most are Nottinghamshire's business owners. A number of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants have been left with no other option but to close their doors for good.
The annual rate of inflation reached 11.1% in October 2022, a 41-year high, before easing to 10.7% in November and 10.5% in December 2022. High inflation affects the affordability of goods and services for households and businesses.

Genting Casino in The Cornerhouse is one of the latest venues to announce plans to close. It made the announcement following a consultation with staff.
