'How good to feel at home' - Bruno Guimaraes' hero's welcome as he enjoys break in Brazil

Bruno Guimaraes' 2022 seems to be going from strength to strength with the Newcastle United midfielder enjoying a much-deserved break in his native Brazil. The 24-year-old finally got to put his feet up earlier this month after featuring in international friendlies with South Korea and Japan.

Guimaraes is now on holiday and has been documenting his break on social media, posting pictures of himself hanging upside from a tree in once instance. The Newcastle favourite popped back to see his former club Athletico Paranaense in action this week, sitting in the stands to watch the 1-1 draw with Corinthians.

Guimaraes even managed to pose for a picture with Brazil World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari as fans mobbed him for selfies in the stands before the Serie A clash.
