Here are your Liverpool morning headlines for Tuesday, December 6.
Partial sale benefits
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has outlined the potential benefits of Fenway Sports Group facilitating a partial sale of Liverpool, as opposed to a full takeover.
The Boston Globe last week reported that sources had informed them that the Liverpool owners were leaning more to selling a partial stake in the club - a capital that may be used to aid "player recruitment or capital improvement".
And Maguire, author of the Price of Football and a lecturer at the University of Liverpool, told the ECHO: "It does have some benefits for FSG and the minority investor. For FSG, say for example they sold 10 per cent of Liverpool at a valuation of £3bn, that's £300m that represents them getting the money back that they paid for the football club back in 2010, yet they are able to keep control.
"Now, they can spend that money how they see fit. It could be to invest in player recruitment or it could be to help them build funds for another purchase, as we already know that they are interested in acquiring more sports teams."
Jude Bellingham price-tag
Liverpool are still 'pushing' to win the race for Jude Bellingham in the summer but will have to bay between €100-150million, according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
Bellingham has continued to star for England at the World Cup, producing a man-of-the-match performance in Sunday's 3-0 win against Senegal in the round-of-16. The midfielder's driving run and cutback set up Reds captain Jordan Henderson for the opener, before he picked up a loose ball in midfield to set the wheels in motion for Harry Kane to net before half-time.
There have been theories that Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is also part of England's World Cup squad, have been working behind the scenes to lure Bellingham to Anfield. The trio have become inseparable since arriving in Qatar last month, so much so that Alexander-Arnold has had to deny rumour he was trying to tempt Bellingham to Liverpool.
But now Plettenberg's report seemingly confirms the work of the Reds pair, adding that they and manager Jurgen Klopp are 'pushing' to take pole position in the transfer battle, with Dortmund ready to sell their star in the summer. The Bundesliga outfit will demand upwards of €100million, although the exact amount seems to be rising by the day.
