Ellesse maintain a deep-rooted history in sport, established in Italy in 1959, Ellesse focused on combining sportwear and fashion and became one of the first ever brands to display their logo on the outside of their clothing, a very brave statement at the time!

Beginning with Ski and Tennis, Ellesse quickly made a name for themselves with a bold and daring visuals, the iconic logo (semi-palla) being born from a merge of the two sports which combines a cross section of a tennis ball with the tips of a pair of skis.

Over 60 years later and Ellesse are still challenging traditions and most recently with their launch into the world of Golf, a sport where etiquette and rules are a large part of the game, especially when it comes to appearance.

We have seen in recent years a change in the mindset of what should and shouldn’t be allowed on the golf course, comfort and style are now pushing their way to the forefront of what is important to the modern golfer and the new golf range from Ellesse is perfectly positioned to provide this.

FROM COURSE TO CLUBHOUSE

Ellesse understand the demands of the golf course, something that was crucial in developing the Golf range was that it needed to stand up to both comfort and performance but also be something that could be worn off the course or in the clubhouse.

The new range has ingeniously combined golf-specific functionality with versatile style, making it a perfect choice for the golfer who seeks a wardrobe that effortlessly transitions between activities.

Whether you prefer a classic, refined look or a bold and expressive style, Ellesse Golf has something to cater to all tastes.

The 2023 range was fronted by Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Adam Lallana, and avid golfer away from the pitch, the 11-handicapper said; “It’s great to be working with Ellesse on its latest offering for golf. As someone who’s fairly new to the sport I have been looking for stylish pieces I can feel comfortable in around the course and Ellesse have created a collection that fits exactly that.

“The range encompasses style and comfort, which I recommend for both long-time players and those just starting out.”

CHALLENGING TRADITION

Ellesse’s golf clothing represents a departure from the traditional landscape within golf.

With vibrant colours, modern cuts and unique patterns, Ellesse is introducing a fresh and exciting aesthetic that challenges conventional expectations while honouring the rules and etiquette so deeply rooted in today’s game.

The use of certain flashes of flair across the range such as reflective print, bold neon pops, chevron designs and space dye effects provide fits that both catch the eye but feel at home on the course.

ATTRACTING A NEW GENERATION

With a whole new generation of golfer looming, certain forbidden items (the infamous hoodie) are slowly finding their way into the sport, more trainer style footwear, cuffed trousers, collarless polos, loud prints are among examples.

These are styles that resonate more with today’s golfer than ever before and it is only a matter of time before this becomes the norm, so why not embrace this?

If it looks good, feels good and performs on the course, then it can only be a positive. The emergence of this new style is what is helping attract more eyes to the sport and make it feel more relatable for all!

Looking to the future

In a sport that is constantly evolving with new formats and ways to enjoy the game, apparel will naturally follow. Ellesse have been involved with some exciting events this year such as their Golf Range Takeover at the Greenwich Peninsula and the Stadium Golf Tour as media and uniform partners.

Both of these events were set up in a way that both golfers and new-comers could enjoy the game we all love away from the course, bringing a more social focus and fresh format to help bridge the gap between those who have never touched a club closer to starting on a golfing journey!
