The Miami Dolphins have set themselves up in a great position through the first 15 weeks of their 2023 campaign.
At the moment, they have a 10-4 record, which is good enough for the top spot in the AFC East and second seed in the conference.
With an important game against the Dallas Cowboys on the horizon, the Dolphins have a chance to stamp their passports for a trip to the postseason.
According to the NFL, there are six different ways that the Dolphins can do so:
- Dolphins beat the Cowboys OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars lose OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans lose OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Colts loss or tie and Cleveland Browns lose OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Texans loss or tie and Cincinnati Bengals loss or tie OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Bengals loss or tie and Colts loss or tie
Miami also has a chance to clinch the division, and there are two ways for that to happen:
- Dolphins beat the Cowboys and Buffalo Bills loss or tie OR
- Dolphins tie against the Cowboys and Bills loss
The earlier that the Dolphins can solidify their spot in the playoffs, the looser they’ll be able to play in the final games. If that extra weight isn’t on their shoulders, they could focus on taking the top seed in the conference from the Baltimore Ravens, who Miami plays in Week 17.
