Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has had sanctions placed upon his ownership of the club by the UK government, which could ultimately impact Arsenal's pursuit of Armando Broja.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss placed the billionaire on the sanctions list, meaning the Blues will have to operate with restrictions under a special sporting license that will expire at the end of May.
The club's players and staff will still receive their salaries but there can be no owner investment, no prize money earned and fans will not be permitted to attend any away games.
Abramovich has also had his assets frozen, prohibiting transactions with UK individuals and businesses, meaning the west London club would need to be given special dispensation for a potential sale, whilst Abramovich would still not receive any of the money the club received.
These sanctions may impact the Gunners ' interest in Chelsea striker Broja, who is currently on loan at Southampton until the end of the current campaign.
football.london reported last month that the north Londoners are monitoring the talented centre-forward, who is reportedly valued at €70million (£58million) by Chelsea, ahead of the summer transfer window, with his exploits at the Saints impressing Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
Arteta and Co spent the majority of the January window chasing Dusan Vlahovic before the Serbian international opted to sign for Serie A giants Juventus instead.
Still, the Spaniard was happy to allow exiled frontman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave for Barcelona whilst Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are into the final five months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium.
