Raheem Sterling was the first Chelsea signing of the Todd Boehly era agreeing to join then-manager Thomas Tuchel's Blues from Manchester City for £45million, but it could have been a very different story as the 27-year-old nearly signed for Spanish side Real Madrid instead.
Despite some poor results and questionable team performances in the latter stages of Tuchel's reign at Stamford Bridge, Sterling was one of Chelsea's star players, netting three Premier League goals and one assist in his first six games in west London.
Since the arrival of Graham Potter, however, Sterling has struggled to find the same form, perhaps due to the unfamiliar position the Englishman is playing in at left wing-back.
