The future of Erling Haaland was a subject that dominated the 2021 summer transfer window, with Chelsea one of the many clubs interested in the striker. Almost 12 months later, the 21-year-old's future is again a hot topic of conversation with many outlets reporting that the striker has a £63million release clause in his contract that becomes active in the summer.
However, according to GOAL, this is not the case. The report claims there is a "gentlemen's agreement" between Dortmund and Haaland's advisors that if an offer suitable is received, then the German club would not stand in the way of the Norwegian centre-forward leaving.
Chelsea were interested in signing Haaland last summer, with Thomas Tuchel confirming the club's interest in the Norway star in October. "We talked about Erling Haaland a couple of times, including during the transfer window," Tuchel told German news outlet BILD.
