- Stephen Bradley, 56, and David Oakley, 48, were each jailed for four years after pleading guilty to robbing Maddy’s convenience store in New Mills, Derbyshire , last November.
- The pair, wearing balaclavas and Liverpool scarves, threatened staff with an imitation gun and a knife, stealing nine bottles of Jack Daniels whisky , £200 in cash and £4,000 worth of cigarettes.
- CCTV footage showed the robbers arguing with each other in fake Scouse accents, with one calling the other 'Charles,' and apologising to the shopkeeper, promising they would 'never come again and we’ll never hurt you.'
- During the robbery, they loudly proclaimed to be from Liverpool and in a hurry to leave, even asking the shopkeeper for assistance in gathering loose coins from the till.
- Police located the men at a property nearby shortly after the incident, recovering the stolen items and the imitation firearm, leading to their arrest and subsequent convictions for robbery, with Bradley also admitting possession of an imitation firearm and Oakley possession of a knife.
