Heavy rain across Hyderabad on Tuesday turned roads into bottlenecks, flooded several stretches and uprooted trees in different parts of the city, triggering massive traffic jams that left many commuters stranded for hours. The worst impact was felt during the evening rush hour especially in the city’s IT corridor where office-goers faced long delays in getting back to their homes. Rife on social media were complaints from residents over a few hours of rain bringing normal movement across the city to a standstill.
Hyderabad residents vent frustration online
With the worsening of traffic congestion, many residents of Hyderabad took to the internet to share their experiences. A video shared by X user Uday Kiran Reddy showed a long queue of vehicles stuck in Knowledge City, one of the major corporate hubs in the city.
