A tragic incident unfolded in Houston as a 29-year-old man, Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, has been arrested and charged with capital murder for the deaths of a 28-year-old mother and her 2-year-old child. The Houston Police Department took Fisher into custody following a disturbing discovery in an apartment in the early hours of Friday.
According to reports, at approximately 3:30 a.m., HPD officers were alerted to a situation where an adult female and child were believed to be held hostage in an apartment. Upon entering the third-floor apartment, officers found Fisher asleep on the couch. A subsequent safety sweep of the premises revealed the victims, both of whom had sustained multiple stab wounds and were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation by the HPD uncovered physical injuries consistent with a violent altercation and bloodstains on Fisher's clothing. Homicide detectives, in collaboration with the Harris County District Attorney’s office, determined that the evidence warranted charging Fisher with capital murder. He was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.
Records indicate that Fisher had been released from prison in December of the previous year after serving a seven-year sentence for armed robbery, in addition to time served for contraband-related offenses. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their next of kin.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of violence within our communities. Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
