No. 1 Houston secured a thrilling 87-85 victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night, with Jamal Shead's short follow shot in the final moments proving to be the game-winner. The win marked a special moment for coach Kelvin Sampson, who faced one of his former schools and emerged victorious.
Shead's heroics came after he missed a driving layup attempt but managed to grab the rebound and convert the putback, breaking the tie and sealing the win for the Cougars. Houston, despite squandering a 15-point lead, displayed resilience and composure in the crucial moments of the game.
